What is Ryft

Last updated: March 1, 2024

Ryft is the chosen platform that Tuft uses to facilitate payments through the system. You can think of Ryft as a smaller Stripe which allows Tuft to take secure payments on your behalf – without having to go through all the red tape of storing credit card details in our system.

Ryft connects directly to your bank account, and Tuft acts as an intermediary for that transaction.

Ryft Pay is a certified PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. PCI DSS (to give the term its full name) is a set of guidelines that all UK companies MUST comply with if they are dealing with the processing and storing of payment details. These guidelines are both technical and operational. If Tuft, or indeed you as a small business owner were to comply with these regulations ourselves, it would cost 100’s of 1,000’s of pounds to do so. Using this service keeps payments secure, reducing overall costs for all parties.

Ryft Pay is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as an Authorised Payment Institution (No. 972895). Funds are safeguarded as per the FCA guidelines, ensuring customers’ payments are protected at all times.
