If your SumUp card reader isn’t working, try these quick fixes:

Check Your Connection

  • Ensure you have a stable Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.
  • If using Bluetooth, switch it off and on again.

Power & Battery

  • Restart your card reader and phone/tablet.
  • Charge your card reader – a low battery can cause issues.

Card Issues

  • If a card isn’t working, try another or use contactless.

Service or Account Blocks

  • Check SumUp’s status page or social media for any system issues.
  • If you’ve taken a high number of payments today, SumUp may have placed a security block – contact support if needed.
