Is my deposit refundable?

Last updated: February 28, 2024

As a best practice we encourage all the groomers on the app to offer a refundable deposit if the cancellation is made more than 48 hours in advance. This allows the salon enough time to fill the space with another client from their waiting lists.

Often the salons featured on Tuft are independent businesses, so failing to attend an appointment, or cancelling last-minute affects more than just their schedule. Deposits reduce the impact on business owners which would usually be financially impacted through cancellations/no-shows. Your deposit is refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of your upcoming appointment.

If you cancel your appointment with less than 48 hours notice, the groomer reserves the right to keep the deposit. If you want to dispute this decision then you will need to talk with the salon directly, who can then instruct us to process the refund if deemed necessary. This process could take up to 3-5 working days from the day we have been instructed to refund your account.

It is much better, if you are able to, to amend your booking for a new time. It’s often easier for both parties if you opt to reschedule your appointment.
